The internet is experiencing a fundamental change: direct communication through voice or social media networks is emerging quickly.
A timeline:
- The Internet began gaining real popularity in 1995 in the U.S.
- People started communicating via chat rooms and small basic bulletin boards and social networks.
- Email became a popular communications channel.
- Instant Messenger services became popular.
- Webcam+ Instant messenger+ Voice integrated into simple messenger services.
In the last few years Social Media networks have become more and more popular, and have started integrating cell phones and mobile PDA's:
Twitter updates, Facebook updates, and other social network updates are readily available on your cellphone with up to the second "status updates".
The next step by merging all these technologies will be direct connect social networks, where the users will call each other or call groups directly.
Phone calls will no longer occur between country borders or continent boundaries. The internet and use of voip will make calls free which will allow users directly connect with anyone, anywhere, anytime without restrictions.
The newest emerging social network technologies will enable calling by using a name instead of a phone number. This is the last hurdle in allowing instant worldwide communications between users anywhere, anytime.
By using one simple name, people already know you- there is no number to find or remember, just dial the name. A simple but powerful concept.
No longer will you need to remember or find someones phone number, or addresses, or email. All of the users data will be stored in one digital name.
To contact the user or the group simply enter the name into any internet device, and press connect. The device will find the user at any point of contact they have chosen and call them.
This technology is not a "pipe dream" for the future. The technology exists today.
Your profile can be stored today on a .tel domain name. All the ways you can be contacted are entered and stored in the DNS. Any user with permission can connect with you instantly.
With the use of .tel domain tech and free wifi becoming prevalent in most areas, calls will become extremely cheap and users will be easy to find and connect with.
Countries like China and India with massive populations will be connecting with other users all over the world.
The .tel domain name is primed to become the next social aggregator.
Billions of cell phone users across the globe will want to join a "global" social network and be connected.
The future is here: Get your .tel name
Signing off, Peppy.tel
The future of Internet is certainly there, but I doubt that .TEL will ever become a symbol or praised Internet tool.
ReplyDeleteSo far we have seen TEL domain being compared to Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking websites. The comparison like that is deceptive.
As TEL domain is not a social networking website. Or if we say that it is a social networking, than any COM domain is social networking as well.
Every businessman shall realistically observe the situation which is going on with TEL domains.
While still in BETA stage, TEL Domain does not deliver what is being promised. Just a couple of programmers are working on TEL domain service, and those services continually fail, we numerous people being pissed off, including myself.
TELNIC tries to hide the failures, and that ignorance of paying customers is exactly what is wrong with the TEL Domain.
I am sorry, but I cannot agree with you that TEL domain will ever become a "global" social network. The statement is too biased.
We have 160+ TEL domains and we use them for Landing Pages and advertising, and our TEL domain usage, gives us enough marketing power.
But this year, we are not investing again into TEL domains, as we can invest into .INFO domains, and spare the money for 500% and more, and have limitless services.
TEL Domain is being advertised as something what is not. That is wrong.
And so far, it is the most limited domain on Internet.
